Making healthier food choices makes for a happier, healthier ‘You’. We don’t believe in adding MSG or using cornstarch/flour as thickeners in our foods. Thick gunky shortenings & hydrogenated oils are not used. We also don’t believe in sacrificing calories for the use of chemicals/trans fats or carcinogens in our food. For instance, most lowfat yogurts are low in fat but loaded with sugar. Remember, low fat doesn’t mean healthy if you’re swapping out fat for high fructose corn syrup, chemicals, artificial sweeteners and numerous sugar substitutes. Hidden trans fats, which are thought to be the leading cause of strokes, heart attacks, obesity and other serious ailments, are not required by law to be posted on food labels. Heart healthy oils are used in our food preparation & cooking. However, Our concern with being 'heart healthy' is imperative. Toffee can only be made with butter but by eliminating preservatives, high fructose corn syrup, additives, artificial colors, etc.-means that you automatically begin with a lower caloried and healthier product. We would rather moderate with butter than use harmful chemicals and additives. But in our 'heart healthy' cookies and cakes, we have perfected the use of 'heart healthy' oils to make for a buttery taste without the cholesterol. I guarantee, you won't miss the butter in the gluten free, flax seed, oatmeal raisin cookies and cakes. However, a little butter is used in the icings. Now relax and know that you are eating some of the healthiest and most delicious desserts on the planet!
